2008 Presidential Election

Moderates Unite is proud to endorse Barack Obama for President in 2008.

This was actually not as easy a decision as one might think.

At the end of the primaries, I breathed a huge sigh of relief as my initial thought was "we have a win/win situation". I had supported Obama over Clinton in the primaries and McCain over some of the other frontrunners such as Huckabee, Giuliani, Thompson etc. I actually liked many of Romney's policies as well and thought he would probably have done well.

At any rate, my joy was soon to dissapate with the disasterous decision of John McCain to select Governor Sarah Palin as his choice as Vice President.

This Moderate Independent cannot support the ultra-right wing philosophy espoused by Governor Palin and in truth, finds her strength of character dubious at best.
